The problem SalSphere was built to solve
Salicylic Acid, on its own, is difficult. It's barely soluble in water, which makes it hard to suspend in a formula at all. And once it does reach skin, it acts fast and crashes pH hard, free SA drops skin pH below 4.5 almost immediately, a range where irritation, dryness, and discomfort start creeping in, especially for reactive skin.
The traditional fix was to neutralize the acid with a base until it stopped stinging, except that neutralized SA barely exfoliates anymore either. You'd trade efficacy for comfort, every time.
